Tiny House Means Less Cleaning, Less Maintenance, and Less HVAC Needed
Have you been into the tiny house movement? I don’t know when this tiny house movement started, but it has been around for quite a while now, and I still read quite a bit about more and more people being interested in living in a tiny house.
I can understand the desire, actually.
Since I am single, I really don’t need a lot of space. I also rarely cook anymore, so I don’t need a bunch of kitchen stuff. I mean, let’s face it, paying rent or a mortgage costs a bunch of money. Think about all the stuff you could buy if you did not have to pay for the space you occupy. A tiny house might mean no house payment, and it definitely means less cleaning, less maintenance, and less HVAC needed. Using less heating and cooling definitely is a big advantage, as the HVAC is generally the most costly part of life, second to the mortgage. If you can have a need for just a mini-split air conditioner, you are likely going to be paying much less for your heating and cooling. And I don’t know about you, but as I get older, it gets much harder to constantly be cleaning the house. Scrubbing bathrooms and sweeping and mopping the floors really hurts my arthritis. Also, I use the central a/c and cool off the whole house, but I only use about half the space. Do I really need all that extra space I hardly ever use? I am truly considering getting a tiny house for my retirement years, but it all depends on whether or not I can find one that I truly love.
