I will keep my window A/C unit even though I have central HVAC
At our residence, I have central heating as well as cooling.
- This is the most popular type of a/c machine in our area, by far.
Because I live in the South, it is not regular to have a boiler or a separate gas furnace. It is extremely simple to operate the central Heating as well as A/C machine because all anybody needs to do to go from oil furnace to a/c machine is flip a switch on the thermostat from the heat setting to the cool setting. Anyway, at a certain period of time, several years before I ever even bought the residence, the place had window a/c machines. Even though they are designated as window A/C machines, they were not actually placed in windows. Instead, there are numerous holes in the walls that are designed recognizably for that type of a/c machine. That pretty much means if I were to get rid of the window a/c machines, I would have to hire someone to come in as well as fill in the space that houses those air conditioners. Instead, I just keep the window a/c machines! Just one of out two of them actually works, however I like having it because it can be used as an a/c machine if the bigger HVAC machine needs repairs. By the same token, it can be used as extra cooling on easily hot mornings or when I have a lot of people over as well as would like a little more cooling than the central HVAC machine provides. The only time it has ever been an issue was 1 time when I made the choice to put our residence on the market. I did put it on the market, as well as everyone who saw the listing kept asking, “Does it have central a/c?” Because they saw the window A/C machines in the photos, they were thinking it didn’t have the more popular central heating as well as cooling machine installed.
