I Recommended a Mini-Split Air Conditioner for my Daughter’s Sunroom
My daughter has just moved to more southern city, and she has just purchased a home there.
She was able to sell her house here, and she used the money she made as a down payment on her new place.
The new place is actually a much older residence, and it is quite charming. It has central heating and cooling, with the exception of the sunroom, which was added on to the original structure. That room only has a window a/c unit. There is no problem with that, except that it takes away from the beauty of the room, and it also is a bit too inefficient. When you are talking about air conditioning in this very southern state where we live, inefficiency equates to costliness. Because she expects the window a/c to be inefficient, she was talking to me about whether or not I knew of any other options for her. She has never known anything other than central heating and cooling. Well, I told her about the mini-split a/c system, and she is now quite interested in that. My friend, Gloria, bought a home recently, and it, too, had a room in the back that was an add-on. Like the owners at my daughter’s house, the former owners at my friends house, chose not to hook the new room into the central heating and cooling system. Instead, they got the mini-split system. I find it to be wonderful. It was inexpensive to purchase and install, it is whisper quiet to run, and it is quite energy efficient. My daughter is considering getting one.
