I love my old window A/C unit even though I have central HVAC
Instead, I just keep the window a/c devices.
At our household, I have central heating and cooling. This is the most popular type of a/c device in our area, by far, but because I live in the South, it is not very common to have a boiler or a separate oil furnace. It is quite easy to operate the central Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device because all you really need to do to go from oil furnace to a/c is flip a switch on the thermostat from the heat setting to the cool setting. Anyway, at a single time, several years before I ever even purchased the household, the home had window a/c devices… Even though they are designated as window units, they were not placed in windows. Instead, there are holes in the walls that are designed particularly for that type of a/c device. That means if I were to get rid of the window a/c devices, I would have to hire someone to come in and fill in the space that houses them. Instead, I just keep the window a/c devices. Only a single one of them really works, however I appreciate having it because it can be used as an a/c if the bigger HVAC device needs repairs. By the same token, it can be used as additional cooling on absolutely tepid mornings or when I have a large amount of people over and would appreciate a little more cooling than the central HVAC device provides. The only time it has ever been a complication was a single time when I decided to put our household on the market. I did put it on the market, and everyone who saw the listing kept asking, “Does it have central a/c?” Because they saw the window A/C devices in the photos, they assumed it didn’t have the more popular central heating and cooling installed in the household.
