The fresh air made me want to sleep outside
There is nothing more refreshing than waking up after eight full hours of sleep. I like to have a cool home when I am sleeping. I know that it is a waste of energy, but when I sleep, I turn the thermostat down to sixty-five. This improves not just my mental health, but also my physical health. If I don’t get enough sleep, I am easily angered and I just don’t feel well. If I can’t go to sleep, normally I will just turn the thermostat to sixty-five and I can fall asleep. Last week, I had family visiting and they didn’t like that I was turning the thermostat so low. My sister was complaining that it was too cold to sleep and her husband just shrugged. The temperature outside was about sixty-six, so I took my blanket and pillow out onto the porch. I curled up on the porch swing and I laid there. I could hear the crickets singing and the dogs barking. I swore I could hear footsteps and I could feel the bugs. Even with all of those distractions, I was able to go to sleep and I slept like a baby. My family was in the house sleeping comfortably and the thermostat was still set at seventy. I was upset because it was my home and my HVAC system, but I have to admit that I had a great night’s sleep after I finally went to sleep. Now, I can face my family and not want to strangle them for keeping me from sleeping in my own bed.
