Holey air ducts!

I am the eternal fixer upper. I don’t care what it is, if there is even an iota of a chance of repairing it, I will find a way. I have this aversion to throwing things away. I feel a sense of loss when I need to put something in the trash. It is like I am giving up on it. Unfortunately, there are times when you just have to cut your loss and move. I have been learning that from several different personal experiences as of late. Last week, I was having some problems with my HVAC system. I didn’t know why I wasn’t getting the air conditioning I should be getting. My AC unit seemed to be working well, but it was also working all the time. It wasn’t even so hot outside that it would be having a difficult time trying to keep up. I couldn’t figure out why it would be so hot in the house. I called the HvAC company to have them come out and assess the air conditioning unit for any problem. I was hoping it would be as simple as needing coolant added to the reservoir. When they got there, they checked out the air conditioner, but they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I was surprised that when they looked further, they found numerous holes in the ductwork and some were quite large. They were unable to fix the ductwork and my only other recourse was to have an entire new ductwork system installed. It was a lot more than I expected to spend, but replacing the ductwork was my only choice.
