Be proactive when it comes to HVAC maintenance

Get it running, and test to see if things are good with it.

Winter is bitterly clinging on, and spring is a little late. It’s early March, and there were snow flurries last night. If anything, you’re thinking about your heating unit when it comes to HVAC. How much longer are you going to need it, you wonder? Well, believe it or not, it’s actually a pretty good idea to start thinking about air conditioning around this time as well. But, you say to yourself, warm weather has to be a long ways off, right? Great! Here’s the deal. Testing your air conditioning unit at least once every 30 days leading up to the hot season is actually good for it. Get it running, and test to see if things are good with it. It will actually keep it healthy, and it’s a much better idea then waiting until the first hot day to crank it up. After all, you don’t want to be surprised with some issue that you weren’t aware of, because you didn’t test it out earlier, now do you? Of course, there’s someone else that could test it for you long before summer arrives, and it’s a good idea to get a hold of him. Your HVAC technician and your air conditioning system will thank you for calling him out early to get preventative maintenance done on your air conditioning unit before you need it. The poor guy is absolutely swamped with business in the middle of the summer, because of all the people who didn’t listen to this good advice! So, get preventative maintenance done on your air conditioning unit early on in the spring, and test it out every month leading up to the summer!
