Buying a property to lease corporate apartments
My hubby and I flip properties as a hobby.
- My husband is a building contractor, and he has his own business.
I work as an accountant for a busy computing firm. When things are slow for both of us, we look for houses to fix and flip. Last year, my husband and I brought our very first apartment building. The apartment building is downtown, and the place used to be Corporate Apartments. The building has been vacant for 8 years, and a lot of repairs needed to be completed before we could rent out any of the apartments. Since my husband and I decided to turn the building into Corporate Apartments for lease, we received some financial help from the Bank. There are special loans available for projects such as these. My husband and I spend every weekend for 6 weeks working on the corporate apartments for lease. We painted every one of the apartments and laid down brand new carpet. We also decided to furnace each one of the places with a full bedroom, kitchen, and living room. Most Corporate Apartments for lease are furnished, and we wanted to be sure that our Apartments would rent right away. My husband and I had to take a second mortgage on our home to buy the building. We research the market for weeks, before deciding on the rental prices. After that, we paid for a serious advertising campaign that included television commercials, radio ads, and large Banners at the property. The corporate apartments for lease have been ready for a few months, and we already have 80% occupancy. Buying the building was a great choice, and my husband and I had a lot of fun remodeling each of the apartments. I can’t wait to see what our next project will be.
