Good space for shop without climate control
Luckily, my parents helped us pay for that item as well.
My friends and I needed to rent a space downtown, so we could set up a shop for our t-shirt design studio. Two of my friends were well known in town as professional skateboarders, and we had a pretty nice clothing line that included t-shirts, hats, shorts, and skateboard accessories. When we were too big for the garage at home, my mom and dad offered to pay for three months of rent at our own small space. It took a long time for my friends and I to find something unique, affordable, and in a good location. After 6 weeks of searching, we found an affordable space near the river. It was right off the boardwalk, and in an area with heavy foot traffic. That meant a lot of people walking up and down the street all day, and that’s great free advertising. Unfortunately, the space didn’t have any indoor climate control. There was a large ventilation fan in the space, but there was no central heat or air conditioning. My friends and I wondered if we would be okay without indoor climate control, and we weighed the pros and cons for several days. When we finally made the decision to take the space, we decided to purchase a nice portable air conditioner for the workspace. Luckily, my parents helped us pay for that item as well. My Dad went with me and my friend Derek to the store, and we picked out a pretty nice 18,000 BTU portable air conditioner for the office. So far, things have been going well. Our sales have tripled, and we are selling more hats and sweatshirts than ever before.
