Tampa is well known for places like the Florida aquarium, Busch Gardens, and the Zoo Tampa at Lowry Park.
All three of these places are a great way to spend the day in Tampa. Most of the attractions at the Florida aquarium or indoors, so it’s the perfect way to spend a hot, summer day. The zoo and Busch Gardens are outdoor activities, and they can be less enjoyable when the outdoor temperatures are a hundred degrees. If you’re going to spend a summer day in Tampa, I would suggest visiting one of the area Springs. Tampa, Florida is known for a number of limestone Springs. In fact, Florida is home to the largest concentration of freshwater Springs in the whole world. Grab a snorkel and head over to Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can see mermaids swimming every day. You can also take a long drive to Devil’s Den Springs, which is located underground in a cavern. The crystal clear water is great for scuba diving and snorkeling. Crystal River is also a wonderful swimming attraction outside of Tampa, Florida. The Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge is one of the only places in the world where you can see manatees swimming in the wild. Though the best time to see these manatees is the winter, the clear waters of the Crystal River give way for viewing many different types of Wildlife. A lot of visitors get to view sea turtles, otters, and a variety of Florida Fish. There is something fun for everyone in Tampa, Florida.
