Wouldn’t have lasted in the old days
Due to the fact that the house had no terrible insulation and no state-of-the-art Heating units to make up for the loss of heat, we began to freeze to death during the night
About a month ago my girlfriend and I thought it would be fun to take a road trip a few hours North and stay in hey old school farmhouse that was available on Airbnb. the old farmhouse looked incredible in the pictures on the site, and it was surrounded by acres of land along with horses and other livestock. Once we hit the road and eventually made it to my destination however, we were surprised with how truly old-school The Farmhouse was. With how expensive it was to rent for only a few days, there wasn’t any modern luxuries or state-of-the-art heating and cooling units installed in the house. No, only a small fireplace in the living room to keep us warm during the night. Nevertheless we enjoyed our first day at The Farmhouse riding horses and exploring the surrounding area. It was really nice to be in Wide Open Spaces when you are constantly living and working in the city like a girlfriend and I work. It wasn’t until the sun started to set and the temperature begin to drop that we began to have some serious problems. Due to the fact that the house had no terrible insulation and no state-of-the-art Heating units to make up for the loss of heat, we began to freeze to death during the night. It was by far the longest and most sleepless night that I have had in a very long time or summation point I really can’t imagine living there a 100 years ago of when that was most likely the norm. As we drove back to our home after the weekend, we were both feeling as grateful as ever to head back to a place that had adequate heating and proper insulation.
