Nurses complaint

I am an HVAC technician by trade and I know first hand that if you are not diligent about changing the filters or having the ductwork cleaned, germs and bacteria can grow in the system and be re-circulated.

While sitting in the waiting room today I couldn’t help but overhear the nurses behind the counter as they were having a disagreement. I have never heard such unprofessional discussions at my doctor’s office before so I figured that something really bad had happened. According to what I heard the one nurse had been written up for taking too much time off. She had been sick several times over the course of the winter and didn’t understand why that would call for a reprimand. She said that she had been proactive when the flu season started and had gotten her flu shot right away. She always washed her hands after each patient and sanitized the table in the room before the next appointment. This was the first winter that she had experienced so much difficulty and she could not figure out why. When I was called back to see the doctor I knew I had to ask him a very serious question. It had nothing to do with my health, it had to do with how clean his HVAC system was. I am an HVAC technician by trade and I know first hand that if you are not diligent about changing the filters or having the ductwork cleaned, germs and bacteria can grow in the system and be re-circulated. This means that there is a constant supply of flu and cold germs being pushed into the entire space. This I hope he looks into it and talks to that poor nurse. If it wasn’t really her fault that she was sick she certainly shouldn’t be punished for it.
