Breaking the bank

I started dreaming of the nice getaway we could take when my hubby brought me back down to reality.

My hubby & I have had a habit that started years ago. Each afternoon, when we get apartment from from toil or shopping, we take whatever coins or single dollars we have from the afternoon & put them into a wooden chest in our family room. Both of us consistently joke that it is out grown up, “piggy bank”. Over the years we have used the money in the chest for things appreciate getaways, special events, or even small apartment improvements. It has been about several years since we counted what was in there and, 1 rainy weekend, we decided to see just how much was in there. It is a fairly big box & when we opened the lid we saw that it was several quarters full. It took us a few hours to count & add up all that was in there. As I started putting the figures into the calculator we realized that we were at almost a thoUSAnd dollars. I started dreaming of the nice getaway we could take when my hubby brought me back down to reality. She said that we should use the money to pay for the much needed upgrade on our Heating & Air Conditioning idea that we needed. This didn’t sound appreciate fun at all, but I had to admit, this was something that we needed to do. Our Heating & Air Conditioning worker had been nursing our idea along for a few years & we just never entirely had the extra money on hand to make the investment. Now, our “piggy bank” was the answer & we decided to make the call the following Monday to schedule the upgrade.
