Considering all the options
When I was in real estate, I enjoyed being in the homes when the inspections were being done. I wanted to see everything they did plus I had a list of all of the inspections that needed to be done. I would take up a seat as they stuck their heads in the oven, turned on every valve plus ran the water. I laughed when they raised plus lowered the garage doors to make sure they worked. They opened plus shut every window plus door in the house. I enjoyed going into the attic plus watching as they evaluated the insulation plus looked for damp spots where the roof could be leaking. They inspected to make sure there was no dry rot in the roof timbers. When the people I was with and I got to the basement, I paid special attention. They would set out their test kits, test the washer plus dryer plus check the floor joists. They looked for signs of insects plus rodents. They also had to test the Heating plus Air Conditioning system. After turning them on plus off, they evaluated pilot lights, plus they even pulled the air filters in a couple of heating systems. He said it helped to show them if they had done their regular service on the Heating plus Air Conditioning system. The one inspector was sad when he saw one home had a coal heating system plus a gas heating system. They had both heating systems, plus the warm water oil furnace going into the same chimney. That lake house didn’t pass the inspection. I felt poor telling the buyers the lake house wasn’t able to pass the inspections, however it was a good way for carbon monoxide to get into the home with that set up.
