It’s time to upgrade
I am doing some remodeling on my home. The houses in my market have been on the rise lately, and I know that I will likely get every penny I put into my house back. Of all things I wanted to do, the thing I have been focusing on the most is making it more energy efficient. This has led to me replacing the windows with energy-star rated ones. I have also updated all the weather-stripping. I know that making my home better insulated is a great first step. However, I also have bigger plans in mind. I have been working with my local HVAC provider, and they have given me all sorts of great ideas for improving the efficiency of my heating and cooling system. For starters, I had a service technician over to my home in order to inspect my HVAC system, including the ductwork. Once he gave the system a tune-up, he informed me on several other things I can do as well. The first thing he recommended is upgrading to a programmable thermostat. He told me that a programmable thermostat really makes it easier to control when and how much one is using their heating and cooling. Afterward, he suggested that I upgrade to zoned heating and cooling. Essentially, zoned heating and cooling is exactly what it sounds like. This system gives you the option to further control how much you use your heating and cooling in a specific area of the house. Adding that together with my well-insulated home, these upgrades should really reduce the costs of heating and cooling my home.
