I will leave my window wide open

A wood burning fireplace was high on our list of must haves when the people I was with and I were looking at houses to buy; All of us enjoyed the plan of resting in front of a roaring fire on a cold rainy night and Christmas afternoon, then but it was more than just a romantic notion. All of us thought it would be a terrific way to save on energy bills. Buying a few cords of wood was much less extravagant than paying out month after month to the power corporation. All of us drove the exhausting real estate agent nuts trying to find a house in our son’s university district with a wood burning fireplace in the home office. They aren’t that respected in this area. Most of the houses that had one were too small or needed far more work than our budget would allow, eventually the people I was with and I found a house the people I was with and I enjoyed. But the people I was with and I don’t love using the fireplace appreciate the people I was with and I thought the people I was with and I would! It turns out that our fireplace is the most inefficient heating source possible. The reason is because there is a huge energy loss through the fireplace damper. If the fireplace damper is unsealed or open, you’ll lose around a fifth of your heat up the chimney. All of us l received that, as heated air goes up the chimney, cold air from outside gets sucked in to replace it. As if that wasn’t exasperating enough, almost all of the heat produced by wood burned in our fireplace is lost up the chimney… So, for all the currency the people I was with and I spent on firewood, the people I was with and I only got a few dollars worth of heat. Now the people I was with and I only use the fireplace on holidays and make sure the damper is closed the rest of the time.
