I’m helping my room
About two years ago, I was fortunate enough to arrange my workload to be handled entirely from home. I no longer need to set an alarm, dress in business casual and drive to the office five days a week. I typically work in my pajamas, set my own hours, and enjoy listening to my favorite music. I am not distracted by coworkers and am far more productive on my own. When I first started working from home, I simply set up a desk and computer in a spare bedroom. I immediately had a problem with temperature control. The room I’d chosen tended to be overheated during the summer months and freezing cold during the winter. Adjusting the thermostat to accommodate that single room was costing me a fortune. I was paying to air condition and heat an empty house, putting unnecessary strain on the air conditioner and furnace, and continually messing with the thermostat. I finally contacted a local HVAC contractor for some help. The technician looked over my heating and cooling equipment and suggested that I upgrade to zone control and smart thermostats. With the installation of valves into the duct system, I’m able to target heating and cooling to specific rooms. I can make adjustments to the comfort of my workspace without impacting the rest of the house. The smart thermostat allows me to raise or lower temperature, and even customize humidity levels, without leaving my desk. I have access to the system through an app on my phone. I have no created a perfectly comfortable and more productive workspace.
